India vs Australia 4th Test

India won the fourth Test cricket match against Australia by 8 wickets. Lokesh Rahul’s 51 runs and 38 runs scored by Ajinkya Rahane made India clinch the game on 3rd day. Indian Test cricket team achieved victory in the series of fourth Test matches with 2-1 lead.

The match began on 25th March and Australian cricketers opted to bat first as they won the toss. Captain Steven Smith’s 111 individual runs, David Warner and Matthew Wade’s half centuries helped Australian team in setting up a huge score of 300 runs in first inning.

Lokesh Rahul (60 runs), Cheteshwar Pujara (57 runs), Ajinkya Rahane (46 runs) and Ravindra Jadeja (63 runs) performed well in India’s first inning and took the score of team to 332 runs. Wriddiman Saha and R Ashwin too added some runs in the total score with their individual scores.

India’s Kuldeep Yadav picked up maximum 4 wickets in the first inning while Australian bowler Nathan Lyon picked up 5 wickets in the same inning. Pal Cummins grabbed three wickets and Steve O’Keefe and Josh Hazlewood picked up one wicket each.

In second inning, Aussies showcased poor performance and managed to score 137 runs. Australia’s star batsman Glenn Maxwell scored maximum 45 runs in the second inning and other men in their batting lineup ended up scoring single digit runs.

Indian spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up three wickets each. Fast bowler Umesh Yadav too picked up same number of wickets in the second batting inning of Australia. Bhuvneshwar Kumar succeeded in picking up one wicket in that inning.

India’s second inning of batting got stuttering start as Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay lost their wickets in early stage. Lokesh Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane scored 51 runs and 38 runs, respectively, and finished the game with curbing victory over the guests.
