In the 19th match of IPL 2017 played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab, David Warner led team succeeded in defeating the opponent team and won the game by 5 runs. With the victory in this match, team SRH has jumped to third position in the IPL 2017 points table while KXIP’s defeat has declined its rank to 5th position in the same table.

KXIP won the toss and opted to bowl first. Decision of inviting rival team to bat first seemed quite appropriate when the pacers and spinners commenced imposing aggressive attack over SRH by picking the wickets at one end of the strike. On other end, skipper Warner scored 70 runs and contributed majorly in setting up a target of 160 runs for opposite team.

Wicket keeper Naman Ojha accompanied his captain with an individual knock of 34 runs, which he scored in just 20 balls. All other players in batting lineup couldn’t play big inning and managed to score single digit runs. However, the team scored 159 runs in 20 overs with the loss of six wickets. Axar Patel and Mohit Sharma picked up two wickets each.

Chasing the big score of three digit runs, KXIP team failed to get a good start from the opening player. Giving a huge shock to KXIP team, Hashim Amla lost his wicket on very first ball. Manan Vhora endeavoured to build a necessary partnership with further players, but nobody managed to accompany him. Manan scored 95 runs in 50 balls and strived hard to achieve victory for the team.

In final over, 11 runs were needed for KXIP to win the game. On other side, team SRH had to pick up one wicket to surmount the match results. Ishant Sharma and Sandeep Sharma were on the field. Siddhartha Kaul picked up the wicket of Ishant and made his team register the third victory in this season of Indian Premier League.
