KL Rahul won’t be able to play in IPL 2017 due to shoulder injury

India’s batsman KL Rahul will not be able to play in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League. The young cricketer received injury to his shoulder during the Test match recently played against Australia. The Karnataka player is set to travel abroad for the medical treatment.

KL Rahul plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore team in IPL. He is the opener batsman as well as the wicket keeper of the team. The team is already missing key player Virat Kohli, who too carried a shoulder injury during the Ranchi Test match against Aussies.

KL Rahul is likely to travel to England for the surgery of his injured shoulder. This might rule him out of the championship, which is slated to commence on 5th April this year. The 24-year-old right handed batsman will be absent for this long-lasting competition of fastest format of cricket.

Selectors haven’t yet announced the name of new player who will be replacing Rahul in the coming season of IPL. There’s also no confirmation whether he will recover till the Champions Trophy 2017, which is going to start in June this year. The international cricket competition is about to be held in England in mid-2017.
