Pakistan won the first T20 match against West Indies by 6 wickets. The match was played on 26th March 2017 at Kensington Oval stadium located at Bridgetown in Barbados. Restricting the foes to a very low score in first inning, Pakistani bowlers didn’t let West Indies’ batsmen to stabilise on the pitch.
In the very first game in ‘Pakistan’s tour of West Indies 2017’, Pakistan won the toss results and invited opposite team to bat first. Opener batsmen Evin Lewis (10 runs) and Chadwick Walton (18 runs) couldn’t give a good start to their inning.
Skipper Carlos Brathwaite scored maximum 34 runs in their batting inning and no other player in the batting lineup succeeded in performing well. All other batsmen of West Indies showcased poor performance and the team set up a target of 112 runs for the foes.
Pakistani opener batsmen Kamran Akmal (22 runs) and Ahmed Shehzad (13 runs) also failed to build a strong base for the team’s score. Middle order batsmen Babar Azam (29 runs) and Shoaib Malik (38 runs) managed to perform well and registered victory for the team with their individual performances. Pakistan chased the target successfully and won the game in 17th over with the loss of six wickets.
