Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to win the 34th match of ongoing Indian Premier League tournament. RCB’s opponent team Rising Pune Supergiants succeeded in winning the game and defeated the rival team by 61 runs. While batting first, RPS scored 157 runs in 20 overs. Power RCB couldn’t chase the three digit runs and faced lost against Pune’s team in the match played at Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium on 29th April 2017.
After winning the toss, RCB’s skipper Virat Kohli elected to bat first. Rising Pune Supergiants team commenced its batting inning with a slow start. Opener batsman Ajinkya Rahane lost his wicket in the early stage of the game. Rahane scored 6 runs in 8 balls. Skipper Steven Smith arrived in the ground just after the dismissal of Rahane.
Smith and 2nd opener batsman Rahul Tripathi played crucial roles in forming a strong for team’s score. Tripathi scored 37 runs in 28 balls while Steven Smith hit 45 run sin 32 balls. After the fall of their wickets, Manoj Tiwari and Mahendra Singh Dhoni came to bat next. Dhoni hit 21 runs in 17 balls and Tiwari scored 44 runs in 35 balls. The team ended up scoring 157 runs in 20 overs with the loss of three wickets.
Chasing the target, RCB had a stuttering start. No batsman in the batting lineup of Royal Challengers Bangalore, except Virat Kohli, managed to score double digit runs. Right handed Indian batsman Kohli scored 55 runs in 48 balls. His individual performance couldn’t make his team successful in winning the match. RCB scored 96 runs in 20 overs and lost its nine wickets while chasing the target of 158 runs.
