Shane Watson, Australian cricketer and former batsman of IPL team Rajansthan Royals, told media on Saturday that he is likely to get a chance to bat up the order for Royal Challengers Bangalore team. As the two key players of RCB team have been ruled out due to injuries, Watson is expecting him to bat in top order of batting lineup.
RCB’s top order batsmen, who got injured during the Test matches series played against Australia, are Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. Both of them have been undergoing medical treatment for the fast recovery of their shoulder injury. Virat as well as Rahul won’t be able to play the game nearly for one month and hence they’ll be missing this year’s edition of Indian Premier League.
Shane Watson has played for Rajasthan Royals team in early editions of the IPL. He was picked up by RCB in last year’s IPL auction as the team RR was banned by BCCI for two years for allegedly involving into illegal betting. Along with Shilpa Shetty-Kundra owned team, Chennai Super Kings has also been banned for two years for the same reason.
Watson, who is famous for hitting huge sixes, interacted with media on 1st April and told that he would like to bat up the order. It won’t be the first time for him to step into ground as an opening batsman. He has a big experience on opening the batting as he had always been the opener batsman of Australian cricket team.
