Rising Pune Supergaints acquired victory in the 24th match of Indian Premier League 2017 by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad at Pune’s stadium. The team successfully chased the target of 177 runs in twenty overs and won the game by 6 wickets. After winning the toss, RPS had opted to bowl first. The team failed to defend the opponents from scoring huge runs. But they managed to chase the target set by antagonist team and won the game.
While batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a decent start. Opener batsmen David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan scored 43 runs in 50 balls and 30 runs in 29 balls, respectively. After they lost their wickets in the early stage of the match, Kane Williamson came to bat next. The right handed batsman endeavoured to settle on the crease, but he could score only 21 runs in 14 balls.
Moises Henriques and Deepak Hooda were the next batsmen who continued the SRH’s batting inning with an unbreakable partnership. Moises smashed 55 runs in 28 balls by hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes. On other side, Deepak scored 19 runs in 10 balls and he hit 2 fours and 1 six to score those runs. The team ended up scoring 176 runs in twenty overs with the loss of three wickets.
While chasing the target, Rising Pune Supergiants lost its first wicket in fourth over. Ajinkya Rahane was the batsman who walked out from the ground after scoring 2 runs in 7 balls. Rahul Tripathi and Steven Smith were the players who batted next after the dismissal of Rahane. The two cricketers tried to build a good partnership to chase the target. Rahul performed well as he scored 59 runs in 41 balls. Smith scored 27 runs in 21 balls.
After the wickets of these two main batsmen, former Indian captain MS Dhoni arrived on the ground. The right handed powerful hitter was assisted by Ben Stokes, who scored 10 runs 9 balls. After the dismissal of Stokes, Manoj Tiwary batted next and gave a finishing touch to their inning. Dhoni scored 61 runs in 34 balls by hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes. Tiwary scored 17 runs in 8 balls. He hit 3 fours while scoring those runs. Thus, RPS scored 177 runs in 20 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.
